Batsheva (B.) Hersch

Batsheva (B.) Hersch is a communications strategist with a background in tech, philanthropy, news, and documentary film.  She partners with individuals, families and corporations to develop strategic narratives that unearth and establish powerful executive communications practices and form the foundations for entire departments.


B. 's practice weaves multi-disciplinary storytelling and ethnographic research with integral coaching techniques in service of those seeking to develop and deepen their authentic voice. Her bespoke programs meet each client where they are with what they need. Her approach is as rigorous as it is compassionate. B. will help draw out your story with ease and wonder and empower you to position yourself so you're backed with enthusiasm by the audiences that matter most.

 

Professional and leadership experience

 

Passionate about the transformational value of story - B. led communications and public affairs for some of Google’s most complex technical products and regulatory issues across Asia Pacific and established Google.org’s first Employee Engagement Program in the region.

 
Prior to her work at Google, B. was Oxford University Skoll Center’s first ever “Startup Storyteller” Fellow and a television producer specializing in high impact human narratives. Her research and production work for The BBC and UK’s Channel 4 earned her credits on Bafta, Grierson and RTS winning  programs.

Education and professional training

 

B. holds a BA from Brown University in Art History and Semiotics and an MSc. in Media and Communications Policy from The London School of Economics (Thesis with Distinction: Constructing Intimacy in Documentary Film). She was the first Oxford University Skoll Centre Storytelling Fellow. 


She is a CFD Certified (Bamboo Being Cohort 2023) and a wedding celebrant.

Board Experience and Fields of Interest

 

B. has held advisory and board positions across multiple social impact and sustainability startups dating back to her time at Oxford’s Skoll Centre. She is currently the youngest and only female member of The Jewish Welfare Board in Singapore. She is an active Investor and advisor to early stage VC’s across SouthEast Asia.

 
B. is passionate about supporting female founders in emerging markets and helping second and third generation female family office leaders find their voice and build their story. She actively pursues ways to give back to those communities whenever possible.

Personal Details

 

B. is a Singapore PR and Canadian citizen of European descent who grew up in New York City and lived and worked in London and Oxford for almost a decade. She and her family call Singapore their permanent home.  
She believes all her clients arrive in her life for a reason and works with everyone from individual leaders to entire multi-national organizations.
