About Us

Our Story

Bamboo Being is a learning and development practice and community founded by Sue Adams in Singapore in 2007.

We support our clients to be more effective in their endeavours and to work and live with greater ease and enjoyment. We have found that whereas  necessity is often 'the mother of invention', the father is probably 'adversity'. You might say we aim to be midwives to fresh possibilities in challenging circumstances.

The challenges that our clients face may be within their organisations or personal domains and now often encompass complex wider social and environmental responsibilities.

This has led to an integrated approach to coaching and development in which a single programme for an individual or team might tap on a whole community of integral coaches and guides with deep experience in their fields.

Our approach is interdisciplinary and holistic. We help clients focus on pragmatic ‘small steps’ without losing sight of the poetic ‘big picture’ purpose. We marry structure and well-tried processes with the flow of what is unfolding in the moment. We customise for individual situations but keep an eye on integrating the whole and we deliberately fuse West and East, marrying cutting-edge research in evidence-based approaches  with traditional practices from wisdom traditions.

We are honoured to work with leading global organizations in the public sector, B2B and B2C industries ........but ultimately our work is H2H (human to human).

Connection is why we are here. We are hard-wired to connect with others, it's what gives purpose and meaning to our lives, and without it there is suffering.
